On November 15th, 2022, the "Zero Carbon China Hydrogen Energy Future" 2022 China Hydrogen Industry Conference was held in Nanhai District, Foshan, Guangdong. Under the guidance of the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration, the Conference was jointly hosted by the People's Government of Guangdong Province and the China International Economic Exchange Center, and was undertaken by the People's Government of Nanhai District and Guojing Consulting Co., Ltd. As the main co-organizer, Foshan Xianhu Laboratory actively participated in this conference, sharing advanced technology concepts and displaying the latest research and development achievements.
At the opening ceremony of the conference, Zhang Qingjie, the chairman and director of Foshan Xianhu Laboratory and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, made a keynote speech. Prof. Zhang expressed warm congratulations on the opening of the conference on behalf of Foshan Xianhu Laboratory, the main co-organizer, and Wuhan University of Technology, a supporting institution of the conference. Prof. Zhang believes that the hydrogen industry conferences over the past years provided a high-end communication platform for all sectors of government, industry, university and research institutes, which is of great value and significance in facilitating international cooperation in the hydrogen energy field, attracting global high-profile talents, accelerating the integration of industrial resources, reaching consensus on industrial development, promoting the construction of a clean and efficient energy system and achieving the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutralization.
At the "High-level Forum on International Hydrogen Energy Cooperation", Academician Cheng Yibing, strategic scientist and deputy director of the Foshan Xianhu Laboratory Academic Committee, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Hydrogen-ammonia combination zero carbon emission combustion technology and its commercialization for high temperature industries". Prof. Cheng analyzed in-depth the concept of hydrogen-ammonia combination technology, experimental results of zero carbon combustion technology and potentials for their application in high temperature industries.
Professor Zhang Ruiming, the director of the Fuel Cell Test Center at Foshan Xianhu Laboratory and executive dean of the Hydrogen Energy Industry Technology Research Institute of Wuhan University of Technology in Guangdong Province, was invited to participate in the Round Table Dialogue on the topic of "Green Hydrogen System Demonstration and Construction". Prof. Zhang emphasized that the introduction of green hydrogen into our real life not only requires reducing costs through large-scale production, but also requires innovation in basic technologies and principles.
The "Sixth China (Foshan) International Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology and Product Exhibition" was held in the meantime. Xianhu laboratory exhibited achievements in green hydrogen and green ammonia preparation, key materials and core components of hydrogen fuel cells, hydrogen fuel cell testing, hydrogen-ammonia combination technology, and commercial and passenger vehicles jointly developed by the laboratory and major automobile enterprises.
The exhibitions in Xianhu laboratory’s booth attracted the attention of the government officials at all levels, major media and television stations, and attendees of the hydrogen energy conference. Mr. Sun Zhiyang, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, visited the laboratory booth.
Prof. Tang Haolin, deputy director of the laboratory, and other researchers were interviewed by the mainstream media.
The enhanced composite proton exchange membrane, 200kW multi-stack common-rail fuel cell engine, 120kW high-power metal bipolar plate stack and Wuling Rongguang hydrogen light truck were the popular "stars" of the booth.
