Cheng Yibing, born in 1953 in Wuhan, Member and Professor
He graduated from Wuhan Institute of Building Materials in 1978, graduated with a master's degree from Wuhan University of Technology (now Wuhan University of Technology) in 1983, obtained a doctor's degree from Newcastle University in England in June 1989, and engaged in post doctoral research at Newcastle University in England from October 1988 to September 1991. From October 1991 to March 2018, he was engaged in teaching and scientific research in Monash University, Australia, and served as the vice dean of the School of Engineering of Monash University from 2004 to 2006. From 2010 to 2014, he served as a part-time distinguished professor in Wuhan National Laboratory of Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He served as a part-time distinguished professor of Wuhan University of Technology in January 2015 and a full-time distinguished professor of Wuhan University of Technology in April 2018.
For many years, he has been engaged in the research of the preparation technology and mechanism of inorganic non-metallic materials, the control of the microstructure of ceramic materials and the performance analysis. The materials studied include non oxide structural ceramics, ceramic matrix composites, refractories, glass and glass ceramics, ceramic plastic composites, etc. Since 2001, new thin film solar cells, including dye sensitized solar cells and hybrid perovskite solar cells, have been studied. More than 70 postdoctoral and doctoral students have been trained, and more than 500 articles have been published in such domestic and foreign academic journals as Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Energy, Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, JACS, etc., which have been cited for more than 20000 times, and the H-Index is 67. In 2018 and 2019, he was selected as a highly cited scientist in the world.
